MYSELF

ABOUT MYself.

The name that you parents choose for you, really determines what you become in life. Some people don’t agree with this idea, but I really have a point on it, historically queen and king’s names have been adopted by predecessors as a sign to continue their legacy, popes in Roma choose a name from a saint of and antecessor to represent their intentions with the qualities of that person. My name is a mix of the government figure and a spiritual person. Power and saintly in one name, Cinthia, which is a Greek translation from Artemis, the later translation of Diana; “the one who is next to God”
I define myself as a hard worker, very determined and brave like Diana who has to struggle to born, like Diana I have to fight to deserve all I have gotten in life, that’s why in my 30 years I have became a an architect, with two masters degrees and have several others diplomas, and I have been teacher at the university in the architectural department for eight years.
Related to the origins of my name I am also interested in the arts, and that’s why the subjects of theory and history are my favorite classes to teach. I am passionate about to dance. I graduated as a  dancer when I was twenty two years old, then I came to new York and got a summer place at the Broadway company playing musicals. Actually I am very interested in helping my community, so I spent time teaching modern jazz and classical ballet at the belle arts public school of my town.
I am Dominican, I love music, smiling, dancing and talking loud, as a Latin I am very funny, positive and dynamic, as my birthday is February seventeenth I am always party like a carnival girl.
My city Puerto Plata, is named the Atlantic Ocean sweetheart, is a very touristic place that was developed during the 80’s and 90’s when hotels, airports, touristic villages and gated communities were built. My family and many others depend on that.
I work as a project manager, landscaper, interior designer and coordinator for Hache Bordas Construction, it is a family company as the only one kid I had to grow up really fast and help my parents; until two years ago when I became the older sister. I have a little sister, Maria Jose; is like my daughter but really is my sister. Icould say alot of things about myself, but there is only one I want you to remember, I am a simple person, as simple as it sounds; I don't expect from life extraordinary things, I just get up and work everyday doing my best on every little thing. Results are amazing when you do small acts with big love.

Uneven?

Uneven?

Everyone in this world should have the same opportunity to succeed, that’s a general supposition that most of us have these days. For me that’s relative; in a practical context people should be equal in their basic needing supplies to get or to achieve transcendence, so now I inquire myself, what is to succeed? The term has variations all over the world.

We know depending on culture and religion transcendence is a controversial topic, but let’s focuses on economical achievements and professional success. In terms of our occidental point of view and our capitalistic minds I should say “I have a dream” and that dream is about changing inside out all about our economical systems. Where we could talk like equals without financial paradigms, external debts and capital flights. This dream of mine could just become reality if we all decide to see opportunities in life as a balance right not as they are now: “the privileges” of those who handle powerful industries, natural resources and our brain and thought thru the media.

Everyone in this world should have rights, the rights of living in freedom, without oppression, with open access to water and food. In fact, there is not reason for a country to impose over another for sea access, like Chile and Bolivia, like Israel and Palestine; there is no reason to be so mean.  We all should have the dignity of a honest job and a fair salary, equity enough to cover basic needs, I don’t understand why China is now underestimating its workers labor allowing international industries to violate human rights with cruel schedules, low salaries and no workers protections. Moreover we all should live in democracy is a perfect state of independence to express our thoughts openly, to access to real and clean press and to understand the world from all the points of view without restrictions, we all have the right of choose and to make decisions, how is possible in this world to have personal stories like  the Myanmar's Nobel Prize-winning opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who spend the past two decades under domiciliary arrest because of the dictatorial regime in Burma, her country. Everyone has the right to receive a piece of land, to have a roof over his or her head and a place to rest with decorum. All of us need desperately a cultural freedom context to express our feelings, paradigms and ideas from our point of view without repression. We deserve a world where cultural background could be shown proudly as a flag, music, language, clothes, food and religion, and overall to be respected and accepted as we are.

Among all these human rights we all should have education, because that gives us opportunity to understand the world in a broader way to take decisions and face consequences. If we all are placed in this equal scenario then we can receive the same amount of opportunities and just in that condition what we decide to do with those opportunities will determine our grade of succeed. That means that everyone should be qualified to decide what to do in life and prepared with the tools to do it, so what would determine the success is your own effort and perseverance; not just the chances and priviledges you have been given.
